A new study by researchers at the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR) sheds light on the mysterious processes governing gold enrichment in island arcs, chains of volcanoes that develop above subduction zones where one oceanic plate descends beneath another.
The research team, led by Dr.
